Reliance IPTV : Reliance partners with Microsoft for IPTV project
November 5, 2007
In a major boost to the Reliance IPTV project, which is the first of its kind in India, CNN today reported that Reliance Communications has partnered with Microsoft to launch Reliance’s Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service which will enable users to do on-line shopping, e-learning and e-banking, apart from watching TV. The price of the IPTV software is yet to be announced by Reliance. However, analysts say that it is likely to be in line with that of DTH services. Reliance IPTV will be launched on the award-winning Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV software platform which will enable video on demand (VOD) and digital video recording (DVR) services.
