Oracle Corporation to acquire BEA Systems Inc

Oracle Corphas made a USD 6.5 billion acquisition offer for BEA Systems Inc. The shares of BEA Systems Inc zoomed up after this news hit the markets, boosting sentiments amongst technology stocks. NASDAQ was up by 1% today, largely driven by the acquisition news. Retail sales data which was out today showed a rise which was more than expected by the market. This boosted investors confidence. Shares of WALMART, the world’s largest restuarant chain, rose by about 1.5%.
